Eventually Deflated but Still Together, 2017
This site-specific time-based installation observes the unavoidable changes in life and how it influences each as individuals, while the society as a whole which is also formed by the individuals. A cloud of inflated balloons will be tied up by ropes and twisted into a big loop. Through the natural passing of time and change in temperature, the shape of this cloud will be in a constant state of change and will morph into different shapes as each balloon deflates. Viewers are also invited to participate in the building process.
Miggie Wong creates situation-based performance projects. As a native of Hong Kong, her intercultural experiences across several countries have diversified her artistic awareness coupled with her own ideals. As such, she offers whimsical experiments that explore and document ideas of social interaction, cultural mutation, radical hospitality, and acts of sincerity.
