Someone once told me that there was a lack of ruins in American culture, at first I argued against this but as time passes I find myself agreeing with that statement. History has definitely left a gaping wound, hardly even healed to this day, but recently it seems as though we are building piles of ruins...not collapsing into them. Much like the ruins the work will eventually turn into over time, if left alone and untouched. These "apparitions" are ruins, and the ruins are a memory stamp of time passed. Almost like a reflection of a moment, a past and possibly a future.
