The kinetic installations Terry creates use a natural mixture of fabricated and organic materials built around a largely masculine syntax. These overly complex sculptures recontextualize familiar and unfamiliar elements, motion and sound, sense and memory to create an experience of wonder and reflection. Alter invites the viewer to join Terry in a meditation on growth and loss, preservation and decay, masculine identity and human inheritance.
